Oak 41mm Square Spindles

We have a large amount of Oak Stair Spindles Newels and Rails to clear. These products are slightly different from our standard ranges but are not sub-standard or seconds. Usage

The 900mm spindles are used on both closed string staircases and landings.  Spindles should be fitted to the handrails & baserails by gluing and crosspining them before installing fillets between each spindles. N.B. All our handrails and baserails are supplied with fillets included.

How Many Stair Spindles Do I Need?

Use the following calculations for finding out how many 41mm Oak Spindles you need for your staircase

For the Rake (up the stairs) count how many steps you have and apply two spindles per step. The take one spindle off at the top where the newel post will be and take one spindle off where the bottom newel will be. This will give you the number of 41mm Oak Spindles you will need for your staircase Rake. E.G 12 steps = 12 x 2 spindles = 24 spindles less top and bottom spindles = 22 Spindles required

For your landing area simply measure the distance from your top newel post to the wall in mm's and divide by 121. This will tell you how many Oak 41mm Spindles you will need for your landing area. E.G. Length between post and wall = 1800mm divided by 121 = 14.87. Round the number down to 14 and you will have enough 41mm Oak Spindles to complete the job.

These equtions will ensure your stair balustrade meets UK Building Regulations.
