Summary

What are Iron Effect Stair Spindles?

Iron effect stair spindles are a vital part of your staircase and work to protect you from falling off the side of the steps. They are a part of the railing on your staircase, known as a balustrade, that is made up of a banister, spindles and newel posts. The spindles are the vertical posts that connect the base rail and handrail together. They can come in many different materials to suit your style preferences and needs. However, choosing iron effect spindles offers you maximum protection as this is a quality, durable material to ensure you’re protected at all times when on the stairs. It also provides you with longevity to last for years to come, giving your stairs a modern, sleek aesthetic over time.

Our Wrought Iron Effect Banister Spindles in Black- Pack of 3

At Blueprint Joinery, we offer high-quality wrought iron effect banister spindles in black to complete your balustrade and tie your décor together. These spindles pair wonderfully with our oak black iron hand and base rails for a cohesive, sophisticated twist to the traditional balustrade. These spindles provide your staircase with a bold, modern edge to draw the eye to an otherwise overlooked space in your home. They allow you to create a cohesive aesthetic that suits you and complements your existing décor. The contrast of the black wrought iron effect with the dark oak creates a unique staircase that instantly blends into a more modern home or minimalist décor. You can transform your staircase into a design feature, making your stairs stand out and drawing the eye to everything around them!

These iron effect spindles for the staircase come pre-cut, so you don’t have to mess around trying to cut them to size when they arrive. All you have to do is simply fit them into the pre-drilled rails and instantly transform your staircase and enjoy the contemporary twist- it really is that easy! These spindles, once fitted into the balustrade, will give you a handrail height of 900mm, which is the perfect height for most staircases, as the typical banister should be around 900mm-1000mm.

Our modern wrought iron effect stair spindles in black have been designed to provide you with a contemporary and sophisticated aesthetic to make your staircase stand out. They are made to the highest quality to ensure they are durable and long-lasting, providing you with a secure railing for the stairs and the same quality look for years to come. Even though they are built to last, these iron effect spindles are very easy to assemble to complete your balustrade without the need for specialist tools or professional help! They are made to slot into our oak black handrails and base rails without the need for fussy, confusing connecting brackets. They simply slot into the pre-grooved hand and base rails and provide a tight, secure fit. These grooves are made with security and durability in mind to instantly have a snug fit without the hassle. All you need to do is put a bed of silicon in each groove to ensure there’s no movement in the spindles for extra security.

What makes these modern wrought iron effect spindles even better is that they can be used with any newel post. This means that you don’t need to change your newel posts or can switch them up to a design you prefer, and these spindles will complement them. Your newel posts can be in any timber, so you can get creative by mixing oak rails with white painted posts or any combination you want. If you choose to keep your existing newel posts in place, the job of creating your dream staircase can be quicker and easier, only taking a matter of hours to refresh your staircase! You can easily take away your existing hand and base rails and spindles and secure the oak handrail and base rails to your existing newel posts. After this, you can slot in the pre-cut rake or landing black iron effect spindles to complete the staircase- it’s so easy you can do it yourself with no hassle!

The Black Iron effect system is the latest in the Contemporary Stairpart range from Cheshire Mouldings, and gives a fresh contemporary look to your staircase. The Black Iron Profile Hand Rail and Base Rail can be fitted to your existing Newel Posts using the Universal Handrail Fixing Kit, saving you time and money.

What Black Iron Balustrade Parts Do I Need?

To complete a straight flight of stairs with a landing, you will need to buy the following items from the Black Iron Effect Range:

For your Staircase

  • Black Iron Effect Rake Spindles – Get our modern wrought iron effect spindles to complete your staircase and have a modern, sleek twist to your balustrade. You will need to measure your handrail length between posts in mm. Once this is done, take away 125mm and then divide by 125.
  • Black Iron Effect Oak Handrail and Base Rail Kits with Fillet Strip- Measure the distance between the newel posts to determine the length of Handrail or Base Rail required.
  • Newel Posts - If you are replacing the newel posts, then you will need two posts. One for the bottom of the staircase and one for the top of the staircase. Remember to choose your newel cap for each newel post.

For Your Landing

  • Black Iron Effect Landing Spindles – You will also need our landing iron effect stair spindles to complete the full balustrade. For an accurate fit, measure your handrail length between newel posts in mm. Once done, take away 90mm and divide the length by 90.
  • Black Iron Effect Oak Hand and Base Rail - Measure the distance between the top newel post and the half post against the wall. If your handrail returns across the landing, then you will need to mitre the handrail using a mitre saw to create the 90° bend.
  • Oak Newel Posts - If you are replacing the newel posts, then you will need a half newel post to secure to the landing wall with a half newel cap.
